What is AQON PURE?

AQON PURE is a limescale protection system without salt that is installed downstream of the water meter at the domestic water connection of a building. AQON PURE uses the limescale protection process of seed crystal formation to reduce limescale deposits in the home.

Does treating my tap water with AQON PURE mean no more cleaning?

For hygienic reasons alone, surfaces still need regular cleaning. AQON Pure makes cleaning easier, but it does not eliminate the need to clean completely. Drinking water contains other substances in addition to limescale, so deposits can still form (if the water stands on surfaces and evaporates). However, these are easier to wipe away. With AQON PURE technology, you can go without harsh scouring agents, aggressive limescale protection chemicals and steel scrubbers. Mild, environmentally friendly cleaning agents are enough. If surfaces are not cleaned for a longer period of time, tougher deposits can form again due to CO₂ from the room air.

What running costs does AQON PURE incur?

AQON PURE does not incur any running costs.

Do AQON PURE limescale protection systems require consumables?

No, AQON PURE does not require any consumables. The idea behind AQON PURE is to offer a product that guarantees maximum user-friendliness and drinking water safety. No consumables such as salt, catalyser granules, filter cartridges or chemicals need to be replaced during the entire service life.

Do AQON PURE limescale protection systems require maintenance?

No, AQON PURE does not require any maintenance. The robust design guarantees trouble-free and long-lasting operation. We recommend only an annual visual check for leaks. You can do this yourself. Specialist personnel are not required.

Who can install AQON PURE limescale protection systems?

AQON PURE limescale protection systems can be installed by any installation company or specialised HVAC or plumbing companies. No special product training is required. The installation and operating instructions supplied with each product contain all the necessary information for installation. We will be happy to contact your local installation company to discuss the installation of an AQON PURE system. Alternatively, AQON PURE has a network of several hundred partner companies throughout Germany. We can offer you installation at a fixed price through our network. We will be happy to discuss yours options with you during the quotation phase and cater to your individual requirements. How is AQON PURE installed? Installation is quick and extremely space-saving. AQON PURE is installed in the cold water supply pipe downstream of the water meter of the respective building. Only a straight pipe section of approx. 40–60 cm is required (depending on product size). AQON PURE systems can be integrated into the pipework vertically, horizontally or at any angle. Why is AQON PURE an environmentally friendly limescale protection system?

Conventional water conditioning systems for treating hard water, such as water softening systems with salt (ion exchange systems) use sodium chloride to reduce limescale deposits. During the process, chloride is released into the environment through the waste water from such systems. AQON PURE neither produces waste water nor requires sodium chloride. There are also limescale protection systems that require certain consumables (e.g. descaling granules or certain cartridges that need to be replaced after a certain period of time) to be effective. AQON PURE does not need these either. In comparison, AQON PURE is made of 100% metal and is 100% recyclable.
